Our Harvest festival service is normally held in September.
The table is appropriately decorated with produce linked to land and sea and there is a wheat sheaf bread baked by one of the congregation.
Members of the congregation are asked to bring items suitable for donation to the Far and Wide Food Bank when they come to the service.
Every year on Harvest Festival Sunday, we organise a special short service for the housebound and elderly in our congregation in St Bridget’s. Some of the harvest decorations from the church are transported to St Bridget’s where the service is held. Arrangements are made for members requiring transport to enable them to take part. After the service, there are refreshments which, not surprisingly, go down well with those who attend.
