Shortly before Christmas, there is a quiet service of remembrance for the bereaved.
At Sunday service in the weeks of advent, a candle is lit in Dunnottar Church to symbolise the themes of hope, peace, joy and love.
Prior to Christmas, the Stonehaven Choral Society presents a service of 9 Lessons and Carols to which the whole community of Stonehaven is invited along to St Bridget’s Hall.
A family service Christingle takes place at 6 pm on Christmas Eve at Dunnottar Church. Along with carols and readings, the congregation are invited to make their own Christingle using an orange decorated with a candle, ribbon, sweets and dried fruit.
Later, a Watchnight service takes place from 11.30 pm with carol singing, readings and short prayers as we join in celebration and reflection to welcome Christmas Day.
On Christmas Day a short service is held at St Bridget’s Hall at 10 am for anyone wishing to share in this special morning. Families are very welcome to attend as well as those visiting the town.
